CELEBRATING WINNERS : SHARING COSTS

“I’ve had horses with lots of syndicators and Owners for Owners are in a different parish. Excellent value, complete transparency, full involvement.”

Alan Stickley, Owner.

OUR GOAL AND APPROACH

Owning racehorses is exhilarating and hugely enjoyable.  Watching a young horse develop, race and then, hopefully, win in your colours with all the joy and celebration afterwards is what it’s all about.  But it is also costly, risky and sometimes frustrating.  It needs optimism and realism in equal measure.

The whole rationale of our approach is to enable like-minded enthusiasts to come together and own racehorses with excellent trainers.

OUR HISTORY AND SUCCESS

Jon and Jacqueline Hughes began their ownership journey in 2004 and then formed Owners for Owners in 2012 as a not-for-profit venture encouraging co-owners to “Join Forces to Buy Better Horses”.  We wanted them to experience genuine ownership not be distant syndicate members, and be fully committed to the welfare of the horse.  It has been a real success. 129 winners to date – and counting.

Great memories: Lord Ben Stack leading the field in the Dante at York;  Acey Milan storming up the Cheltenham hill;  Sojourn routing the opposition in the Cumberland Cup at Carlisle;  and El Caballo winning six races off the reel including the Group 2 Sandy Lane at Haydock.

REASONS TO JOIN US

Owners for Owners is completely different to being in a conventional syndicate.  Our approach is unique and appeals to experienced owners who want to join forces with like-minded co-owners.

Genuine Ownership

Be treated like a sole owner while sharing costs, risks and enjoyment with others.  Active involvement in all key decisions about the horse.

Small Groups

All our horses have under ten co-owners and some have substantially fewer. We have no large syndicates, micro-syndicates or racing clubs.

Highly Personalised

Be close to the horse, the trainer and your fellow owners.  Our communication, on and off line, is tailored to your needs and requirements.

Proven Success

After more than a decade we’re getting closer to the next milestone of 150 winners, at almost every racecourse in the UK. We deliver success.

Race in Your Colours

We do not have Owners for Owners colours.  There is an annual draw for the horse to race in your colours. All prizes go to the owners.

Open Access

Get to know the horse and the trainer.  Anyone can visit our trainers at any time, together with friends and family. Freedom to be involved.

Total Transparency

Everything is open for scrutiny:  purchase price, training fees, VAT reclaims, prize-money, all costs and annual accounts.

Not for Profit

We strive for lowest possible cost.  There are no high charges.  We are not in it to make profit from you. There are no hidden margins.

We are active in promoting high standards of integrity and transparency in shared ownership and syndication.  We are fully compliant with the BHA’s Code of Conduct for Syndication and are members of the Racehorse Syndicates Association.

ENJOYING THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE

There are so many pleasures in owning racehorses:  attending the sales, following the horse’s development, visiting pre-trainers, being on the gallops with top trainers (in all weathers!), attending racecourses around the UK and overseas, the exhilaration of winning, taking home the trophies, celebrations in fine restaurants and sharing the passion with friends and co-owners.

And throughout the journey, being as close as you want to be to your horse.
