Dortmund Park, 3yo gelding by Great Pretender (Ire) ex Qena (Fr) Offered at £40,000
Dortmund Park

Martin has had great success with horses from French agent, Richard Hobson, not least with last season’s Cheltenham winner, Altesse De Guye.  This beautiful horse is from a classic French NH bloodline.  One he’s really looking forward to training this season, and he looks an absolute cracker.  A really imposing type with a lot of scope and class.  Great Pretender is a son of the fabulously successful NH sire King’s Theatre, and is rapidly making his mark.  Paul Nicholls has been a major buyer of this bloodline.

Qena won her only race in France over 1m 3½f.  She is out of a Cadoudal mare, Goldoulyssa, who produced United Park, who won fifteen times and over £256k for Guillaume Macaire.

Unnamed 3yo gelding by Robin Des Pres (Fr) ex Lady Phoenix (Ire)

Offered at £8,000
Unnamed 3yo gelding by Robin Des Pres

Group-winner Vatori stayed up to 1m 2f on the Flat in France.  The dam, Astonia, is by the well-known NH stallion Astarabad, out of Emystone who produced a top miler in My Stone, and was bred by the successful house of Jean-Luc Peron.  The half-brother has won and the full sister was placed on her first two starts.

Owned by Martin’s neighbour Andrew Campbell, this is a really nice stamp of a horse, ready to start training.  He has loose-schooled very well and is one for bumpers this season.
